Vessel
My Work
One of the first fashion project I worked on. The Vessel is named after the shape of its silhouette. I want to convey my own identity which is a mixture of western culture and Chinese culture. The black suiting overlaying the silky cheongsam dress literally explains my multi-culture background.
Sample & Prototype
I tangled a few strings of yarn together to create a bulky line that is later sewn onto the dress. Below is a prototype of the inner cheongsam dress to test out the flare at the hem.
Sketch
On the right is a sketch of the design front and back. The hardest part was to physically imitate the blue lines in the sketch.
